Welcome to Maple Corners!

Maple Corners is my little slice of heaven on ten acres of Minnesota prairie which I share with a small fiber herd of llamas and alpacas, a couple of dogs, a few cats, a flock of laying chickens, and well, you get the idea.

I've decided that it is time to share the wonder that is alpaca fiber.  All the alpaca fiber shown here comes from my boys.  I dye the fleece first and then play with the drumcarder, often adding silk, kid mohair (from a local grower) or fine wools for variety.  The yarn is handspun by me.  This is a one-woman operation, so this is all done in small lots, which cannot be exactly duplicated.  If you see something you like, grab it now!

Alpacas love a good dust bath/rolling session.  If there is a burdock plant to be found in the pasture, they certainly will be the ones to find it!  Obviously, I try to keep the vegetable matter out, but I cannot guarantee vm free fiber.
